Mad Dog Smith & Animal Control on Puckett's Main Stage!

Mad Dog Smith & Animal Control are a Tennessee based band that performs a rootsy blend of old-time music, bluegrass, and country blues.  Josh ‘Mad Dog’ Smith is known for his country blues ballads, banjo mastery, and guitar flatpicking and fingerpicking.  In his performances, you can hear the influence of artists like Doc Watson, Tommy Jarrell, Leadbelly, and Gus Cannon.  Animal Control is Mad Dog’s band and is made up of some of the best roots musicians in the area.   With the combination of acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, and upright bass, the sound that Mad Dog Smith & Animal Control produce is hard driving and exciting.
